Conservation Rebates Available June 1, 2010
Montana-Dakota has been awarded a grant that is funded through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and administered by the North Dakota Department of Commerce - Office of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency. This grant award offers financial incentives to encourage commercial consumers to initiate electric conservation measures in their buildings and are available to Montana-Dakota's commercial electric customers in North Dakota.
Rebates will be issued for equipment purchased and installed between June 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011.
- Funding for these programs is limited and rebates will be paid on a first come first served basis. A full listing of program terms and conditions are on page two of the forms.
- The Commercial rebate programs are not available to gambling establishments, aquariums, zoos, golf courses, swimming pools, state government, municipal (city/county) government or public schools.
- Commercial rebates are capped at a maximum rebate level of $15,000 on the equipment or service (rebates are not issued on the installation cost).
- Each program is limited to one rebate per commercial customer,with a maximum ARRA funded rebate of $15,000 per customer.
The following outlines a summary of the programs available.
Commercial Cooling Program:
Montana-Dakota commercial electric customers who purchase and install a high efficiency electric cooling systems will qualify for the following rebates:

To apply for the Commercial Cooling rebate, fill out the following form, include a copy of the dealer/contractor sales invoice (including brand, model number, serial number, and date of installation) and send it to Montana-Dakota.

Commercial Lighting Program:
The Commercial Lighting rebate program has been established to encourage commercial customers to replace less efficient lighting products with new high-efficient technologies. The Commercial Lighting Program is divided into a standard project and a custom project option. Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. must pre-approve all custom projects and standard projects with incentives over $1,000. This program provides a rebate of $0.40/watt of energy saved with a maximum payout of $15,000.
How to Apply: If pre-approval is required (all Custom Projects and Standard Projects over $1,000), submit all of the forms and check the pre-approval box. Submit forms prior to commencing work to ensure that funding for your project is secured. Montana-Dakota will respond in writing once the project is approved.
Fill out and sign the Commercial Lighting Incentive Application, and if applicable the Commercial Lighing Custom Project form and send in the forms and a copy of the contractor invoices to Montana-Dakota.
