North Deadwood – Natural Gas Expansion Project
Montana-Dakota is excited to offer natural gas service to the North Deadwood (The Ridge Development) area, see map. To extend natural gas service in this area, Montana-Dakota must upgrade the existing system. Montana-Dakota has received South Dakota Public Utility Commission (SD PUC) approval to recover the system upgrade costs through a North Deadwood Expansion Surcharge Rate 75 (Rate 75).
Customers requesting natural gas service in the North Deadwood Expansion Surcharge Area will pay an initial upfront down payment (as listed in the Rate 75 tariff) at the time they request natural gas service. In addition to the down payment, there will be a $5.00/month expansion customer charge and an expansion commodity charge of $4.00/dk. The terms of Rate 75 are in addition to the customer’s applicable South Dakota Gas rate schedule. The charges under Rate 75 will be separately billed and identified on each customer’s bill. Montana-Dakota estimates the Surcharge Rate will end in November 2034.
